Hello, Welcome back.
The Advertisement that I decided to analyze was Mayhem: Beauty Blogger. This advertisement is meant to be a satirical and comical warning about the inevitable moments that anyone can go through. This ad is supposed to make the audience feel assured that if they choose All-State Insurance that the company will have their back. This particular ad is supposed to have a one on one moment with the people watching at home by explaining that being glamorous and trying to show others how to be, can end up being one of the biggest mistakes of that person's life if they are not careful. The target audience is supposed to show parents that if their son or daughter ever tries to become a beauty blogger that they may forget to leave the straightener on or forget that it is still hot by placing it on a towel.
The context of the advertisement is that a "forgotten" heat source can be the most deadly thing that can happen to a person. Regardless of the person's religious beliefs, traditions, and gender is the maintenance of one's beauty important to anyone. American Culture has learned that it doesn't matter who the person is they cannot see the future but they sure can plan for it. The ad was a humorous yet subtle message that the insurance company will forgive you even if you can not forgive yourself and that they have you covered. The message that this is trying to point out to society is that getting the best insurance for your family should be your biggest priority. Although, the public finds it very funny that a grown man in a suit is straightening his already straight hair. This advertisement is a representation of how Americans are now becoming YouTubers for a living. This kind of advertisement is a clear solutions to everyone's insurance situation.
This is what the average beauty room looks like for many beauty bloggers.
The advertisement shows the narrator doing his hair and wearing
eye patches to help with undereye bags is a nod to homeowners that beauty basically comes at any price. The ad shows the back of a room that is instantly appealing to the eyes due to the different sublte colors. It uses two different lights and the placement of the furniture is meant to make the narrator the focal point. The first thing that one sees is the "beauty Blogger" who states that it is going to be a tutorial on mermaid hair and then he carefully places the straightner to his left and eventually starts a fire before leaving in the opposite direction of the fire making it evidently clear to the audience that he does not care since he has great insurance. The layout of the ad is supposed to be evidently clear to the audience without saying a single word making it all the more important to the viewer. The tone was designed to appeal to today's culture by adding that it was going to bring him many likes due to today's society most important aspect of life is the measure of likes.
I hoped you enjoyed reading my take on the advertisement.
Hello, I enjoyed your beauty blog advertisement. My daughter and I can relate. We have had our mishaps with curling irons and straighteners, I have learned the hard way that you have to have a heat pad underneath them to avoid burning your countertops, we have even left them on when we leave the house (we invested in the ones that turn off after so long of no use). My daughter and I check multiple times to ensure the hot tools are off.
ReplyDeleteBeauty can be dangerous with the hot tools, products etc.
Thanks for sharing.
Hello,
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed your blog and how you described what this commercial was really about. Many people have had mishaps with these devices and it can be scary. These ads have a funny way of showing it is important to stay safe and protected no matter what the situation is. I really liked how you added in details and even photos.
